I came across this sometime ago, and had shared it privately, but it is worth it of a mention on FiliusLunae.

Yes, you read correctly: Susan Boyle wants to reach the millions of Spanish speakers worldwide. And, she recorded a song in Spanish to prove she's capable.

Ok, fine, she doesn't speak Spanish. And really, if you watched the video linked above, you have realized that she doesn't sing in Spanish either.

The video is the creation of Youtube user afhg, a Mexican university student who received much praise in Mexico as his work was featured on quite a few talk shows. The song you hear is truly Paquita La del Barrio's voice, a Mexican singer famous for her candid lyrics which show her strong opposition against machismo. As a good example, the song that Susan Boyle "performs" in this video is titled Rata de dos patas, "Two-legged Rat", a reference to the man who mistreated the songwriter.
