Postcard from Brazil

Recently, I received a postcard from two Brazilian friends. They are Isabel, from São Paulo, and Roberta, from Rio De Janeiro. In talking to them, they have exposed more to the speech of their respective cities. That is, the pronunciation, accent, and expressions particuliar to each one of them. Of these, an interesting one is how Isabel at times pokes fun at Roberta's accent. Isabel says that she can't stand so many SH sounds in the speech of the cariocas, those native to the city of Rio De Janeiro. This is because the cariocas pronounce syllabe-final S as /sh/, the sound in English show, while the paulistanos, those from São Paulo, render it as /s/. So while Roberta may say, "Eshtou em Búziosh", with /sh/, Isabel might say, "Estou também em Búzios", with /s/.
Here I transcribe what they wrote on the postcard, as well as a picture of it.

Oi Eddie! Olá, Eddie!
Aqui estamos nós, Bel e Beta em Búzios, curtindo o verão brasileiro. :-) B-) d-)
Agora é a Beta quem fala (ou melhor, escreve!). Búzios é TDB (tudo de bom), como você pode ver na foto deste postal (aqui é a Bel escrevendo... adorei a praia!).

Hi Eddie! Hello, Eddie! Here we are, Bel and Beta in Búzios, enjoying the Brazilian summer.
Now, it's Beta who speaks (or better said, writes!). Búzios é TDB(cool), as you can see from the picture on this postcard (now it's Bel writing... I loved the beach!).
